Who, what, why?

My name is Ben Toombs. I’m a qualitative research director at TNS-BMRB, the largest provider of social research in the UK. I’m also a Fellow of the Royal College of Arts. Professionally, I talk to all kinds of people, from the homeless to politicians and CEOs, about the things that matter to them. Personally, I’m just interested in the way the world works, and how we can make it work better.

I’ve started this blog because now, more than ever, the things that matter to people are really going to matter. I want to share my views on issues that directly affect people’s lives as individuals, families, neighbourhoods, communities. I’d like to start a discussion, and who knows perhaps come up with some new ideas. If nothing else, it will help me to order my own thoughts – and that in itself could take some doing! If you want to know anything else, have a look on LinkedIn here…
